Transport on Track

Back To Overview

Impulse (\(I\)) is measured in \(Ns\) or \(kgms^{-1}\).

\(I = \Delta p = mv - mu = F\Delta t\)

Where \(p\) is momentum, \(m\) is mass, \(v\) is final velocity, \(u\) is initial velocity, \(F\) is force and \(t\) is time.

CORE PRACTICAL 9: Investigate the relationship between the force exerted on an object and its change of momentum.

A collision is elastic if there is no loss in kinetic energy.

A collision is inelastic if there is a loss in kinetic energy.

Capacitance (\(C\)) is measured in \(F\).

\(C=\frac{Q}{V}\)

Where \(Q\) is charge and \(V\) is voltage.
